STARTING THE YEAR RIGHT
Notes
"The enemy of the creative is the lack of intentionality"
- Depending on your talent to do what only diligent and intentional preparation can do.
- Depending on someone else to fill the vacuum we leave open.
- Discipling Creative leaders to impact the world.
- Emphasis on LEADER.
- Leaders do nothing on accident.
- Leaders don’t react; WE INITIATE!
- We forecast and plan our strategy.
- We are ready for the rain when it comes and we don’t complain…. We thrive.
Spiritual Principle
Col 3:1-2
1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
Be intentional in your personal Consecration
Consecration qâdash (kaw-doshe qâdôsh - Holy, set apart, sacred) means to:
- be set apart, be consecrated.
- be hallowed.
- show oneself sacred.
- be honored, be treated as sacred.
- set apart as sacred, consecrate, dedicate.
- observe as holy, keep sacred.
- be holy.
Create a plan of consecration for the year
- Consecration isn’t temporary.
- We don’t loan God 21 days in January and then take back the rest of the year.
- True consecration is a lifestyle—a continual dedication of our total self to God, every day, all year long.
Create a strategy for self-development
- Nothing grows by accident (The only thing that grows without effort are babies).
- Choose at least 3 - 4 books for development.
- Join a cohort or virtual community like ours.
- Seek out a personal mentor (distant mentors are good, but only supplemental).
- Consider how you will process stress, past emotional injuries, and overall mental health.
Practical Application
- Lead your teams into a purposeful season of consecration.
- Establish consistent times for corporate prayer.
- Select devotionals to journey through together as a team.
- Create a sustainable rhythm of spiritual consecration throughout the year. Remember, consecration mustn’t be confined to the four walls of the church.
- Incorporate intentional touchpoints such as morning prayers on Zoom, team devotions, fellowships, and both virtual and in-person gatherings to nurture continual spiritual growth.
Keys for Master Level Leadership
- Establish a clear vision for the year.
- Define actionable goals that align with and advance that vision throughout the year.
- Develop intentional strategies to bring those goals to life.
- Create a consistent rhythm of strategic planning to ensure alignment, focus, and progress as the year unfolds.
"Everything you plan and strategically implement will grow!"
